What’s New in Platform: Symba Surveys

If you run an early talent program, you know how important it is to collect midpoint and end-of-program feedback via surveys. You also know that surveys can be a big headache. Creating them? Not so bad. Collecting them? A hassle sending reminders and tracking down folks for their responses. Analyzing responses? A pain trying to cross-analyze survey results with other data sources to dive deeper into KPIs.

To solve these challenges, we’re excited to announce our new and improved Surveys feature! We’ve offered survey capabilities to our customers for a while now. In fact, a global biotech company has been able to improve their survey processes by 58% with Symba, and Robinhood saves 4-5 hours per week during their review periods. We all know how crucial even a few hours a week can be to early talent operations; it’s time that can be invested into DEI strategies, upskilling, building partnerships, and more. 

This initial iteration of surveys has helped us get first-hand product research, on top of the many interviews we conducted with early talent leaders to further understand pain points, must-haves, and nice-to-haves. We took all this feedback and built our new Surveys feature. 

With Symba Surveys, you can:

Create Templated and Custom Surveys

From the aforementioned research, we compiled a list of best practice questions to ask your program participants, managers, and mentors for both midpoint and end-of-program surveys. Surveys come prepopulated with these standard questions so you can leverage out-of-the-box templates. Want to ask program-specific questions? No problem, add your own questions to build custom surveys!

Automate Survey Collection

Once you’ve created your surveys, all you need to do is assign the users that should be taking each survey. Our platform will automate the survey collection for you. Midpoint surveys go out two weeks before your participants’ midpoint dates, and end-of-program surveys go out four weeks before your participants’ end-of-program dates. This will give users enough time to complete their surveys. 

There are inevitably stragglers who wait until the last minute or are late to take their surveys. Our Surveys feature allows you to send reminders however often you want via email, in-app notification, and SMS, and will only go out to the users who haven’t taken their surveys yet. Watch those responses flood in!   

Analyze Survey Results

Creating and collecting surveys is only part of the journey. The next step is to analyze them. You can view all survey responses within Symba, and export into spreadsheets. Managers and mentors can also view their direct reports’ and mentees’ survey responses, and use these insights to understand who’s on track and off track in terms of performance and ensure they’re providing the right resources and support.

If you’re already sending out midpoint and end-of-program surveys, chances are you’re utilizing an existing tool like Google Forms or SurveyMonkey, so why make the switch to Symba Surveys?

With Symba, your early talent program surveys live inside the same platform where you’re managing the rest of your program operations (onboarding, engagement, projects, etc). This allows all your program data to be housed in one place, and any data collected in Symba, whether via a native feature or an integration, can be tracked and visualized in our Dashboard. That means you can cross-analyze your survey results with other platform data. 

For example, you’ll be able to easily track NPS scores as they compare across different demographic groups. Do your women and nonbinary program participants have lower NPS scores than your men? Are you scoring low among your Black talent? These are important data points that you should dive deeper into to ensure you’re fostering an inclusive program.

You can also compare survey data over time. This is especially useful for tracking progress from midpoint to end-of-program within one cohort. For example, if you’re running a pipeline to hire program, you can track how many no-hires (those who were off track) at the midpoint received offers at the end of your program to understand how effective your midpoint interventions are.
