Symba, the leading remote internship management platform, is hosting a free virtual workshop for internship program managers on Designing a Remote Internship Program that Cultivates Community. The team will be “traveling” through various time zones across the United States and Central Europe in order to teach early talent development leaders how to build internships that communicate company culture and strengthen connections among remote interns.
In 2020, employers reported that camaraderie among their remote interns was the same or worse than their previous in-office programs, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). For many of these companies, this was the first time they had managed interns virtually. Symba’s workshop is designed to help program coordinators improve their community engagement strategies as the summer internship season approaches.
“Our goal is to provide all early talent development leaders with access to resources to help them design meaningful experiences and inspire symbiotic relationships through their remote programming,” says Mitra LeBuhn, Head of Growth & Strategy at Symba.
The interactive workshop will cover innovative community-building strategies from successful remote programs. Post-event, attendees will receive an action plan and toolkit of resources to support program design and implementation. Just as remote work operations look differently from in-person collaboration, developing camaraderie and introducing company culture virtually requires intentional programming.
