Happy New Year from Symba’s Founders!

By Team Symba

Dear Symba Community of customers, mentors, interns, and supporters,

By founding Symba, we have learned firsthand that building a startup takes an entire village and an enormous amount of support. It’s not easy to turn an ambitious idea into a reality. There are numerous trials and tribulations along the way. 2020 presented a whirlwind of new challenges that we all had to embrace as a community. Our team at Symba could not be more grateful for your continued support, and we are excited to share some of our big wins this year and vision for the upcoming year. Check out Symba’s 2020 Highlights below.

In the beginning of 2020, our team started off with a big bang and joined the Techstars Anywhere program along with 9 other incredible startups from around the world. When the world went remote, we launched our campaign, #SaveInternships, and made headlines on TechCrunch, the Washington Post, and Teen Vogue. We knew Symba could be a resource for many organizations and students alike. Forbes named Symba one of the leaders behind the Remote Work Revolution. We strived to make a positive impact during a difficult time of wide-spread workforce transition.

We had so much inbound demand for Symba’s platform, our team needed to expand. From only two full-time team members, we grew to over 15 team members with engineering, marketing and sales expertise. We launched version 2.0 of Symba and onboarded over 3,500 new users to the platform across 25 different organizations this year. We received incredible recognition from various pitch competitions like winning the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Tata Consultancy Services Pitch for Purpose grand prize, the National Women’s Venture Summit, and the IE Women’s Venture Day Pitch competition. To top it all off, we closed our first round of venture capital with notable investors such as 1517 Fund, Hustle Fund, and January Ventures to help us scale and take Symba to the next level.

Many of these achievements and milestones could not be achieved without the support of our champions and partners at Techstars, URx, the Halcyon House, INROADS, and Acceleprise. A big thank you to our early adopters who believe in our work at Symba and continue to innovate with us each day.

In 2021, we have a big vision to scale our impact and grow to over 25,000 users and onboard 100 new organizations from around the world. We plan to launch Symba 3.0 and our new mobile app. We look forward to furthering our mission to #OpenUpTheWorkforce for millions of job seekers and empower organizations with key resources to scale their remote operations.

We are continuously grateful for your support in our startup journey!

Sincerely,

Ahva & Nikita
