We’ve just released a major new feature: introducing…Symba Events! Incorporating events throughout your early career program is a great way to facilitate community-building, showcase your company culture, provide exposure to company leadership, and ultimately create a space where your early talent can feel like they belong.
However, planning events can be a hassle. Early career programs need to incorporate a variety of events into the schedule, including socials, speaker series, professional development workshops, and training sessions. Each type of event requires different budgets, stakeholders, activities, vendors, and more to keep track of. On top of that, you need to measure the effectiveness of your events - what percentage of your early talent are actually attending the events you organize? Are your events attracting all demographics or only some?
Symba’s new Events feature helps you manage a robust events calendar and understand ROI so you can continually optimize for budget, content, and inclusiveness.
With Symba Events You Can:
Create Events
The Events feature lives within our Calendar feature, where you, as an admin, can create and manage both events and meetings. The process is intuitive and simple, and you can create public and private events. Public events are visible to all users on the platform and anyone can RSVP; these may include onboardings, program-wide socials, and executive speaker series that everyone should attend. Private events, as the name suggests, are visible only to users whom you invite. These might include alumni-only and department-specific events, or maybe you have interns and apprentices and want to host separate events for each group.
Keep Track of Event Spend
Aside from the usual event planning inputs like date and time, location, description, and attachments, you can track event spend. Spend is only visible to admins and can be updated at any time. This will help you understand if you’re spending money on the right events or if you need to shift budget to other activities.
Improve Event Attendance Rates
Speaking of money, hundreds to thousands of dollars on top of many hours of hard work are spent on these events. A common struggle we’ve heard from talent leaders is ensuring their interns and apprentices are aware of upcoming events and can easily access a schedule of activities available to them. With Symba, we’ve created a space where your early talent can see all the events you’ve created and made available to them in one place and easily RSVP, improving involvement and attendance rates. If you add them in as pre-participant users, they will even be able to access this calendar before their program starts. Noticing that there’s a delay in RSVPs? You can quickly send out reminders via SMS, email, or in-app notifications to encourage participation.
One-Stop Shop For Events
Symba Events is your one-stop shop for managing early talent events. Our feature’s functionalities make it much easier to keep track of all your events and RSVPs than tools like Google or Outlook Calendar. You get a dedicated view, where you can see all upcoming and past events as well as any events in draft mode. At a quick glance, you can also see how much you’re spending on each event and what registrations look like.
Why Use Symba’s Events Feature
The power of leveraging Symba to manage your events in addition to the rest of your early talent program is data. You can leverage our Dashboard, which tracks your key program metrics, to see which events were the most successful, event attendance rates by different demographics to understand inclusivity, and more. Having this data at hand will help you quickly understand the ROI of your events and make informed decisions.
Symba’s Events feature also enables you to create an iterable events strategy. You don’t have to start from scratch with each event. Once you have seen which ones have performed the best, you can duplicate them and have a roster of repeatable events.
Get Started With Symba Events
Engaging your early talent is crucial to converting and retaining them, and research by Gallup has shown time and time again that engaged employees produce better business outcomes than unengaged employees. Events are an important component to engagement, and Symba’s new Events feature makes the planning and execution of events a lot easier and enables your team to track meaningful event data to foster inclusivity.
