Tell us about yourself.
I am a senior at SUNY Fredonia, where I’m studying marketing. I want to pursue a career in social media, digital, or brand marketing, and want traveling to be a part of my life one day. In my free time, I enjoy learning about history, languages, and reading.
Tell us about your remote internship. What is your title, and what are the projects and daily tasks you work on?
As a Marketing Intern, I work on email marketing and social media advertising along with video editing and creating photos and posts.
What are you enjoying most about your remote internship?
I enjoy the flexibility and the fact that I am able to pitch my own ideas and not just do as they say.
What new skills have you learned so far?
I’ve picked up video editing, social media, and email marketing.
How have your company and internship manager supported you through your internship?
They have given me the resources necessary to help me come up with my own unique marketing ideas.
What advice would you give to other interns about to embark on their first remote internship?
Make sure you are being treated fairly and not being used as an unpaid employee.
Any last thoughts?
Remote internships will be the new normal. It took a pandemic for us to realize how useful they are.
