Tell us about yourself.
Hello! I am Samantha Kublin born and raised in the beautiful sunshine state of Florida. I am going into my Senior semester at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) pursuing a degree in Communications with a focus in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing.
Some of my career goals include opening my own PR and Marketing firm in which I help companies and brands to reach their fullest potential through services such as Branding, Social Media, Content Creation, Public Relations & more!
In my free time, I enjoy collaborating with companies to promote products that I am passionate about such as Goli Gummies, Dippin Daisys, Soda Shades and more! Some of my hobbies include traveling, working out, cooking, reading self help books, going to the beach and enjoying this beautiful "thing" we called life with the people I love!
Tell us about your remote internship. What is your title, and what are the projects and daily tasks you work on?
I am a Marketing Intern for Taylor & Francis (T&F). My projects and every day task include various meetings and training sessions which vary from a plethora of topics such as Personal Career Development, Insight into the Product Team, learning about T&F through the eyes of the CEO, Annie Callanan, just to name a few. A lot of my job includes researching and assembling a database of needed information to assist with various enhancements of T&F website pages, in addition to learning about aspects of SEM Rush.
What are you enjoying most about your remote internship?
I love that I am able to make an impact to help T&F and connect with professionals in my fields of interest!
I am enjoying gaining new skills and experiences specifically SEO - Search Engine Optimization - as I feel this skill is not only about research but aids in improving the user experience and usability of a website as a whole.
How have your company and internship manager supported you through your internship?
T&F as well as my manager have been extremely supportive and flexible during times like these. I am super appreciative to have been given a buddy who acts as a mentor to a few other interns and I. She is extremely knowledgeable and cares about us being successful through this internship - she truly goes above and beyond for us.
What advice would you give to other interns about to embark on their first remote internship?
My advice to those about to begin on their remote internship journey would be to ask questions - it’s okay not to have all the answers - that is how you learn and grow. Learn to have excellent communication skills - this is key in everything you will do in your remote internship. Be open minded and have a positive attitude! Make as many connections as possible! You got this!
