The Symba Spotlight Part Eight: Vincent Buccini
Vincent Buccini is an intern with UPS. His experiences have lended him a tremendous amount of knowledge that he will use in a year abroad, but also in his future career. One of his projects will be presented to the UPS Board of Country Managers. Check out the other cool projects he's been working on below.
Tell us about yourself.
I am an incoming Junior at the University of South Carolina studying International Business and Marketing. With my career, I hope to add value to a company by matching my interest in design with the ability to analyze data. I also hope to learn these skills as I study abroad in Latin America for over a year. I'm also an avid runner and own my own clothing company, Caerus LLC.
Tell us about your remote internship. What is your title, and what are the projects and daily tasks you work on?
International Marketing Analyst Intern (originally slated to be in Singapore). My project is to consolidate a broad set of insights on UPS and its competition into one intuitive interface that can react to user input.
What are you enjoying most about your remote internship?
I've loved being able to apply what I'd expect to be an otherwise very boring summer towards learning data skills, corporate norms, and meeting wonderful UPSers from around the globe.
What new skills have you learned so far?
I've learned Power BI and Outlook Calendar alongside how to save time when looking at large sets of information and especially the techniques for conducting a great virtual call.
How have your company and internship manager supported you through your internship?
I check in with my manager three mornings a week and he has been a tremendous help in steering me the right direction.
What advice would you give to other interns about to embark on their first remote internship?
Write out everything else you will be doing outside of the internship and get into a schedule before it starts.
