Welcome to our blog series, Sync with Symbians! Our team at Symba is growing and we would love for you to get to know us.

With each post, we’ll highlight a rockstar team member of the Symba team. You’ll learn a lot about the people who make Symba, their journey so far, what their day looks like in their role at Symba, and much more.

Meet Carrie Murray, who works as a Customer Success Manager at Symba. Carrie has been with Symba for 10 months and works on onboarding new customers to Symba, supporting them throughout their programs, and communicating their needs to the team. Outside of work, Carrie loves spending time with friends, traveling, and going out to eat. Come, let’s learn more about Carrie and her journey so far - professional and personal!

  1. What brought you to Symba and what’s been keeping you here?

I’ve worked in Customer Service for over 10 years; all my previous roles were B2C, working with customers one-on-one. I was drawn to Symba because the product is servicing other companies and at a larger scale. It completely changed the way I look at customer success and I was able to be challenged in ways I never had before. What keeps me at Symba is our team and our mission. We are a small but mighty team that truly values our customers and believes in our mission. It’s been an extremely rewarding experience.

  1. How would you describe Symba’s work culture?

Collaborative and hardworking. Every member of the Symba team is incredibly focused and hardworking, pitching in wherever needed. Every team works together in some capacity whether on daily tasks or larger projects and it's inspiring to see the amount of effort from everyone.

  1. What does a day in the life of Carrie look like?

One of the favorite parts about working at Symba is that everyday looks different. I really enjoy wearing many hats and being able to balance several projects at once. It keeps my days exciting and new!

  1. Proudest moment at Symba?

Winning South Summit! I was new to the team at the time, but it was incredible to witness the true greatness of our team and how important our mission is.

  1. How’s it like to be a ‘remote worker’ at Symba?

Having a remote role was a top priority for me before I joined Symba. So when I found out this entire team was remote, it felt meant to be. Personally, I’ve thrived in a remote work setting. Living in NYC, I save hours on commuting each day alone. I’m able to stay more focused throughout the day without the distractions of a large office, but I still feel connected to my team as they are just one Slack or Zoom call away. I get to control my schedule and really embrace the work/life balance that Symba encourages.

  1. What’s your personal mantra and why is it important?

Trust time. I’ve always struggled a lot with change. As I get older I’ve realized life will always be changing and a lot of it is out of my control. But, I believe time heals all and to trust that it will all workout the way it's supposed to.

  1. Any advice for future Symbians?

To lean into the startup culture. While it can be really fast moving and challenging at times, it’s also incredibly exciting and rewarding!
