Happy holidays from the entire Symba team! This year has been a whirlwind of exciting opportunities and challenges. Our team has grown from one to six amazing women, each with their own unique background but united by our startup. We have over 200 users testing our platform and helping to shape our product, and we’re consistently rolling out new features and modules to our platform.

We’re very thankful for what 2018 has brought to us, and we’d like to take some time to share a few thoughts as we look forward to the new year.

“Thank you to our amazing mentors and community for your endless support through the exciting and intense stages of our startup journey. Launching a startup is an unparalleled experience, and I’m thankful to work alongside such a dedicated and brilliant team.

Our ultimate goal with Symba is to serve a greater mission and use technology to improve career development opportunities for students around the world. I’ll never forget when one of our team members said ‘Symba gives me wings.’ From our beta, we have already learned that Symba is making a positive impact. But, as I always say, 'this is just the beginning.’ We look forward to welcoming all the new opportunities and adventures in 2019.”

-Ahva Sadeghi, Chief Executive Officer

“Symba is at such an exciting stage right now, and it would not have been possible without the Symba team. We’ve already launched our product and are already seeing the positive effect Symba is having. I’m very thankful for the entire Symba team and for our supportive and incredible mentors, and am looking forward to making a bigger mark in changing the way internships work.”

-Nikita Gupta, Chief Technology Officer

"I'm thankful to be a part of a team and company that want to increase the accessibility of internships for students trying to get their feet in the door. Our world often revolves around who you know, but if we can virtualize and scale internship programs, more students from all around the world can participate in these valuable learning experiences. I'm looking forward to new product developments and new opportunities!"

-Ellen Zhang, Chief Marketing Officer

“In the short time that I’ve been part of the Symba team, I’ve learned that success is not only driven by an innovative idea, but it is first and foremost driven by a team of exceptional, dedicated and talented individuals. This year I am grateful for having the opportunity to work alongside the Symba team! May 2019 bring many opportunities, growth and continued success!”

-Paula Mora, Director of Business Development

“I am amazed at how Symba has grown and developed so quickly and with such success. I can't wait to see when Symba starts to touch other people's lives and help them achieve their wildest dreams. I learned that this is thanks to a great idea, but mostly to an amazing, passionate, and hardworking team. I am thankful to be part of this and I am excited for what is coming next!“

-Tamara Estrella, Chief Strategy Officer

“When I heard Symba being pitched, I knew this was a powerhouse team I wanted to be a part of. I am thankful to be able to join the journey that is Symba in these past few months and am looking forward to work with this amazing team to continue improving our product and gain even more traction in 2019.”
